Whitley Under Way

Work is well under way on the first phase of a multi-million pound
development by St Modwen on land adjacent to the existing Jaguar
factory at Whitley, located at the junction of the A45/A46 interchange,
two miles south-east of the city centre and close to Coventry Airport.
St Modwen Properties PLC, one of the country’s leading regeneration
specialists, purchased the 53 acres of surplus land at Jaguar
Engineering Centre, for the creation of a high-class business park, to
be known as Whitley Business Park with the potential for generating in
excess of 2,000 new jobs.
This is Phase 1 of the total development which will consist of
approximately 1.1 million sq ft of predominately high quality office
and business space and complimentary industrial/distribution units.
HSP have teamed up with Laser Build to construct the scheme which, at this stage includes 6 Offices and associated car parking.
The scheme has been carefully designed to retain a number of mature TPO
trees in the centre of the site and also utilises the latest in
sustainable drainage strategies (SUDS) which not only delivers a cost
effective solution to both the contractor and the client but is also
beneficial to the environment.
Work has only been under way for a few weeks, but the site is already
taking shape, with the contractor taking advantage of the recent good
weather to ensure the scheme progresses on schedule.
